Watch Jude Law Play a Youthful Albus Dumbledore in 'Fantastic Beasts:The Crimes of Grindelwald' Trailer

Though the movie series for the original seven books ended almost seven years ago, Harry Potter fans still have new content to look forward to. The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald dropped Tuesday (March 13), giving a peek into the sequel to the Harry Potter series prequel.

Following the tale of 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the trailer stars magical zoologist Newt Scamand, played by Eddie Redmayne, who will be seemingly continuing his quests for mythical beasts. This time, however, his adventures seem to be set in Paris, and will now follow the capture of the villainous wizard Grindelwald. The preview also teases the first glimpses of Jude Law as Professor Dumbledore's much younger self.

The casting for the film has been met with some controversy, as the film's titular Grindelwald character is depicted by Johnny Depp -- a decision that Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has backed, despite criticisms surrounding the choice after Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard accused the actor of domestic abuse
